Fall into postcard views with Rainbow Getaways

For most of the country, fall is in full swing. The air is crisp, and the trees show us their artistry as they prepare for the winter. During a time when pumpkin spice lattes are in every coffee shop, the travel bug hits many to explore nature's beauty. This week, I wanted to share some of my favorite places to travel during the fall for scenic drives.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

America's most visited national park isn't just about hiking during the summer and skiing during the winter. Head out to the Great Smoky Mountains between mid-October and early November to fall into the scenery that's straight out of a painting with vibrant orange, yellow, and red foliage all around you. The best way to experience that National park is to take a hike to Looking Glass Falls.

Denali National Park

Alaska isn't just for taking a cruise in the summer months. You'll want to spend some time in Denali National Park during September or early October. After the summer, tourists have gone South to have what would seem to be the entire park to yourself. The views are straight out of a postcard, and with the quiet, you'll have a great chance to see moose, bears, and elk getting ready for the long winter.

The Ozarks

In the Midwest, the Ozarks promises a memorable hike through mountains of thick forests that are just asking to be included on your Instagram feed. For those who are less inclined to hike into nature, the Talimena National Scenic Byway. The Talimena offers road trippers over 50 miles of some of the most breathtaking views the area offers. Plus, explore quaint towns along that offer travelers events to make the Ozarks a nice leisure trip.

Michigan

The upper peninsula of Michigan has fantastic views to enjoy the coastal scenery and fall-foliage in one drive. The further north you drive, the more uninterrupted nature becomes, and the views get better and better. One of the most scenic parts of the state is to Copper Harbor, which takes you on a long drive through breathtaking forests.
